Easy Red Beans and Rice


Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 2 ribs celery
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 15-ounce can cans red beans (no sugar added), drained and well-rinsed
  • 1 15-ounce can can fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 – 1 teaspoon red (cayenne) pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce, plus more to serve
  • Smoked salt or Liquid Smoke seasoning (optional)
  • cooked brown rice, to serve
